Nintendo has finally announced the release date for Sonic Mania Plus, the expanded edition of last year’s excellent Sonic Mania revival. Sonic Mania Plus will be available on July 17th, and it will include a new playable character, a remixed “Encore” mode, and a four-player Competition mode.
The new playable character is Ray the Flying Squirrel, who was originally introduced in the 1994 game Sonic the Hedgehog 3. Ray can use his flying squirrel abilities to glide and hang from branches, which should add a new layer of strategy to the game’s levels.
The “Encore” mode remixes the levels from Sonic Mania to add new areas and challenges. It also includes remixed music and graphics.
The Competition mode lets four players race each other online or locally. Players can choose between Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Ray, and each character has their own unique abilities.
The Sonic Mania Plus release date was announced alongside a new trailer for the game. You can watch the trailer below.

Is Sonic Origins coming to Nintendo Switch?
There has been much speculation in the gaming community over the past few weeks about whether the latest Sonic game, Sonic Origins, will come to the Nintendo Switch. Some believe that it is only a matter of time before the game is released on the Switch, while others are not so sure.
Origins is a reboot of the Sonic franchise, and was released on PS4, Xbox One, and PC in November of last year. The game has been generally well-received by critics, with most reviewers praising its graphics, gameplay, and level design.
So far, no announcement has been made by SEGA or Nintendo about a possible Switch port of Sonic Origins. However, there are several reasons why it would make sense for the game to be released on the Switch.
First of all, the Switch is a very popular console, and a port of Sonic Origins would likely be very successful. Secondly, the Switch is a perfect platform for games like Origins, which can be played both on the go and at home. Finally, the Switch’s Joy-Con controllers would be perfect for playing Sonic Origins, as they allow players to use motion controls to navigate the game’s levels.
All of this is merely speculation, of course, and there is no official confirmation that Sonic Origins will be released on the Switch. However, it seems like a very likely possibility, and I, for one, would love to see it happen.
Is Sonic Forces 2 on Nintendo Switch?
The much-anticipated Sonic Forces 2 may be coming to the Nintendo Switch. This information comes from a recent listing on the Japanese website 4Gamer.net.
The listing in question is for the “Sonic Forces 2 Complete Edition” which is set to release on the Nintendo Switch on March 15th, 2019. The Complete Edition is a bundle that will include the game itself as well as all post-release DLC.
While a release date for Sonic Forces 2 has not yet been announced, this listing suggests that the game may be coming to the Nintendo Switch. This would be great news for Sonic fans who have been waiting for the game to come to a Nintendo platform.
Sonic Forces 2 is a sequel to the 2017 game Sonic Forces. It is a 3D platformer that sees Sonic and his friends fighting against the forces of Dr. Robotnik. The game was announced in a leaked trailer in February of 2019.
The Nintendo Switch is a home video game console released by Nintendo in March of 2017. It is a hybrid console that can be used as both a home console and a handheld device. The Nintendo Switch has been a huge success, selling over 34 million units as of September of 2018.
If Sonic Forces 2 is indeed coming to the Nintendo Switch, it will be a big win for Nintendo. The Nintendo Switch has been in need of more high-profile 3D platformers, and Sonic Forces 2 would fit the bill perfectly.
